Aging Starts With How You Live
I’ve come to realize that aging doesn’t begin on the surface of the skin.
It begins in how we live.
We often say, “You are what you eat.”
But at some point, I started to think—
what if we are also what we apply, what we wear, and the environments we place ourselves in?
Everything that touches us—
what we eat, what we put on our skin, what we wear,
and even the spaces we spend time in—
doesn’t simply pass through us.
It accumulates.
It becomes part of us.
And eventually, it shows up on our skin.
That realization changed the way I think about skincare.
Before looking for better products,
I had to look at my own state.
I was living fast.
Too many thoughts, not enough rest,
constantly in a state of tension.
And my skin reflected all of it.
So I started to change—slowly.
Instead of doing more, I tried to do less.
Instead of moving faster, I allowed myself to slow down.
The biggest shift came from sleep.
Not just sleeping,
but truly resting.
Letting go of thoughts.
Releasing tension.
Allowing the body to fully settle.
But I realized something—
rest isn’t automatic.
We stop moving,
but we don’t stop thinking.
So I began practicing something simple, but difficult:
letting go.
Releasing thoughts before sleep.
Creating space for the mind to quiet down.
That small shift changed everything.
Sleep is not just rest.
It is repair.
While we are asleep,
cells regenerate,
damage is repaired,
and the body returns to balance.
But this process is deeply influenced
by the state of the mind.
Calm is not just an emotional condition—
it is biological.
When the body is at ease,
recovery begins.
And the skin reflects it.
In nature, there is a pattern.
The longest-living organisms
tend to move slowly.
They don’t rush.
They conserve energy.
They spend more time in recovery than in stress.
Slowness is not a weakness.
It is a survival strategy.
And perhaps, it applies to us too.
Aging doesn’t accelerate because of time alone.
It accelerates with tension.
So slowing down—
doing less, holding less, thinking less—
may be one of the most powerful ways to age differently.
This is when skincare started to make sense in a new way.
It’s not just about what you apply.
It’s about the condition of the skin you’re applying it to.
Only then do products truly work.
Percent Science begins at that point.
Not as a solution to override a broken system,
but as a way to support skin that is already in a state of recovery.
We focus on strengthening structure,
improving density and elasticity,
and slowing the underlying processes of aging.
But none of that replaces the foundation.
Because in the end,
we become what we choose.
What we eat.
What we apply.
What we wear.
And how we live.
And all of it
is reflected in our skin.
Tonight,
you don’t need to do more.
You don’t need to fix everything.
Maybe just think a little less.
Let go a little more.
Rest a little deeper.
That might be
the quiet beginning of aging differently.
