Jina Kang, Founder of House of San San, Loves the Art of Anti-Aging with Percent Science
At Percent Science, we see skincare as more than formulas — it’s a reflection of the women (and men) who live with purpose, ambition, and honesty. Our products are created for those who lead demanding lives, pursue creativity and influence, and refuse to compromise on authenticity or quality. In each conversation of this series, we spotlight voices who inspire us — individuals whose journeys mirror the same values of transparency, resilience, and forward-looking spirit that define our brand.
This time, we’re honored to share the story of Jin Kang.

Jin Kang is the founder and curator of House of San San, a Bay Area–based beauty and wellness shop featuring a thoughtfully curated collection of in-demand products from Korea and beyond.
Having called the Bay Area home for the past decade, Jin balances her role as a business owner with life as a devoted mother to two active boys. Through House of San San, she has created more than just a retail space — it’s a cultural hub where beauty meets intention, community, and artistry.
Her work centers on discovering brands that blend clean ingredients, thoughtful design, and storytelling, offering customers a more meaningful way to experience beauty. As both an entrepreneur and a mother, Jin embodies a modern woman’s life — ambitious yet deeply grounded.
Q. Jin, could you start by introducing yourself?
Hi, I’m Jin! Originally from Los Angeles, I moved to the Bay Area about ten years ago after getting engaged — and now I’m a proud mom of two lovely boys. Last year, once both of my boys started school, I decided to follow a longtime passion and opened a beauty and wellness shop. I’ve always loved learning about skincare and holistic wellness, and my goal has been to curate clean, high-quality products from Korea and around the world. Alongside running my shop, I’m also furthering my education in skincare and will be completing esthetician school this year.
Q. Tell us who you are and what led you to create House of San San. How has living in the Bay Area shaped your journey as a beauty curator?
My passion for skincare and wellness has always been a big part of who I am — I love learning about how to care for both the mind and body and wanted to share that knowledge with others in a meaningful way. Living in the Bay Area for the past ten years has deeply influenced my journey. The community here is so diverse and open to new ideas, which inspired me to create a space that celebrates intentional beauty — one that brings together clean, thoughtfully made products from Korea and around the world. House of San San is my way of connecting people through wellness, culture, and the art of self-care.
Q. Everyone defines beauty differently. What does beauty mean to you personally, and how has your definition evolved as both a shop owner and a mother?
To me, beauty always starts from within. When you feel comfortable in your own skin, it naturally shines through on the outside. I truly believe that when you care for your body and mind like a temple, that inner balance and confidence become your most beautiful features. As both a mother and the founder of House of San San, my understanding of beauty has deepened over time. I’ve learned that true beauty isn’t defined by products alone — it comes from how well you nurture yourself, prioritize your health, and honor what makes you feel whole.
Q. Looking back on your career so far, is there a particular brand or collaboration that felt especially meaningful to you? Why did it leave such an impact?
I’ve always loved hosting intimate events where I can introduce products I truly believe in and share tips on how to care for your skin. Connecting with people who appreciate the time, thought, and knowledge behind these experiences continually inspires me.
Q. Who inspires you in terms of style and authenticity, whether from fashion, beauty, or everyday life?
I love anyone who’s confident in their own style and taste — it always shows through effortlessly. There’s something so inspiring about people who know what they love and express it authentically.
Q. Skincare is personal to everyone. Do you have specific skin concerns or rituals yourself, and how do you usually approach them, especially while balancing the demands of motherhood?
I like to keep my skincare routine simple, especially as a busy mom. I really believe that less is more — for me, that means a good cleanse, toner, moisturizer, and sunscreen. I also treat myself to a facial once a month for a deep cleanse and a bit of self-care through massage.
Q. Running House of San San while raising a young son must come with moments of imbalance. How do you recognize when things feel overwhelming, and what helps you recover your sense of balance?
I try to manage my time as best as I can and not get too worked up when things don’t go as planned. It’s all part of life and part of the process. Sometimes, letting go really is the best thing you can do.
Q. In your view, what defines a truly inspiring or admirable woman today?
I find it truly admirable when someone is genuinely happy and can confidently speak their truth about what they want. So many people hold back or stay quiet out of fear of what others might think, so seeing someone live authentically is always inspiring to me.
Q. At Percent Science, we believe in honest, science-driven skincare for ambitious women. How do you personally relate to this vision, and how does it connect with the ethos of House of San San?
I’ve always been drawn to products that are both effective and thoughtfully made. As someone who values transparency and intention in beauty, I appreciate when brands take the time to understand the science behind what truly benefits the skin.
Q. Finally, we’d love to hear your impression after experiencing Percent Science. How did the products feel for you personally, and what stood out most in your experience?
I was really impressed by how lightweight yet effective the products felt on my skin. Everything absorbed beautifully and left my skin feeling balanced, hydrated, and refreshed without any heaviness. What stood out most to me was the thoughtful formulation — it’s clear that every ingredient is chosen with intention and backed by science.
Thank you, Jin, for sharing your story with us. Conversations like this remind us that beauty isn’t only about products — it’s about people, vision, and the courage to live authentically. At Percent Science, we’re proud to stand alongside women like you who redefine what modern beauty can mean.
